SWEEPSTAKES: Win a Trip to New York City and Two Tickets to the City's Greatest Music Festival

During prohibition, tons of sketchy stuff went down. Speakeasies were probably a major breeding ground for unspoken activity, and this particular spot has a folklore all its own. Originally constructed in the 1890s (on the hush, of course), it has seen some action. What action, we’re not sure, but rumor has it that strange noises come from the now-locked basement of this hotel. Patrons have reported muffled jazz, loud “shush-ing” noises, and constant footsteps going up and down the stairway – really creepy stuff, but no documented sightings.

Unfortunately for these witnesses, things allegedly got even creepier. These noisy entities followed the underground drinkers home where the exact same cigar smoke and heavy footsteps were discovered again. Luckily, they got help from spectral experts. Once expelled, the entities returned to the speakeasy basement to haunt the next guests.

Chances are you’d be freaked out if followed by one of these entities, and we don’t blame you. So would Tucker, but that’s a low bar for comparison’s sake.
